Prickly Pear Clarinets at ClarinetFest 2025
The Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble is heading to Fort Worth for the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest 2025!
We’ll be representing the music scene from deep in the heart of Texas, San Antonio. Our performance will be an official premiere of Shaun Guzmán’s clarinet choir arrangement of Alfred Reed’s Five Dances for Five Clarinets. Our five soloists—Eb, Bb, alto, bass, and contra—are excited to be bringing this musical gem to life in a way not yet heard!

SOLI Chamber Ensemble’s second Showcase of the 30x30x30 Project invites the community, composers, performers, and music lovers to come together in an innovative and intimate setting.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with guest composers through interactive Q&A sessions and casual gatherings throughout the afternoon.
The schedule for each day will utilize the following format:

River City Winds: First Fine Arts 2025 Lenten Concert Performance
River City Winds is thrilled to be a guest to San Antonio’s First Baptist Church during their very special seasonal fine arts spotlight series. We will be performing works that remember and celebrate the Lenten season.
The First Fine Arts Series is a venture that is dedicated to the idea that art is a gift from God, and that it should be cultivated and celebrated among the people. Concerts throughout the Series will bring together the community and the church to enjoy the gift of music. The spirit of bringing people together is in keeping with our purpose.

Our season finale concert will feature the outstanding members of the HCYO joining the symphony in a side-by-side performance of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. The symphony will also perform Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major featuring our consummate concertmaster, Phil Johnson. Audience members will be amazed by the symphony’s first ever performance of Mahler’s grand Symphony No. 1 “Titan,” followed by the biggest “boom” of classical music, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

TMEA 2025 Music Showcase - River City Winds
River City Winds is making our TMEA debut this season!
We will be performing a showcase highlighting repertoire taken directly from the PML of varying styles and difficultly levels to encourage more small chamber ensembles and acknowledge the fluidity of chamber music!
