Prickly Pear Clarinets at ClarinetFest 2025

The Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble is heading to Fort Worth for the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest 2025!

We’ll be representing the music scene from deep in the heart of Texas, San Antonio. Our performance will be an official premiere of Shaun Guzmán’s clarinet choir arrangement of Alfred Reed’s Five Dances for Five Clarinets. Our five soloists—Eb, Bb, alto, bass, and contra—are excited to be bringing this musical gem to life in a way not yet heard!

Audience members will be amazed by the symphony’s first ever performance of Mahler’s grand Symphony No. 1 “Titan,” followed by the biggest “boom” of classical music, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Carols on the River Walk 2024

San Antonio’s River Walk, colorful lights, decorations, holiday carols, pop favorites, and Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble! Start your December off right downtown on the Riverwalk listening to some of your favorite carols and holiday songs played on the passing river barges!

Prickly Pear will begin its hour-long trip of the Riverwalk at 9:30 PM on Friday, December 13 (see the link for more information). More info HERE.
Find your favorite restaurant’s patio seating or a perfect spot along the river banks and enjoy the caroling for FREE! Experience the sounds of the season as caroling boats float along the river in the downtown area.
