The Heart of Texas Concert Band honors one of the best-known composers for band by featuring the music of American composer Leroy Anderson. Remembered as the genius who brought us the holiday favorite Sleigh Ride, Anderson additionally was a prolific composer of music, both serious and silly, that has become part of the voice of our country. We will perform Anderson’s Irish Suite, and an assortment of pieces featuring members of the HTxCB, such as The Penny-Whistle Song (featuring the flutes), Clarinet Candy (featuring the clarinets), and Bugler’s Holiday (featuring the trumpets), plus more!
